Preserve America Grant

Funding for the updated Master Plan for Gratz Park was made possible through the Preserve America program, which is administered by the National Park Service. Preserve America is a Presidential initiative that encourages and supports community efforts to preserve and enjoy our cultural and natural heritage. In 2006, the Gratz Park Neighborhood was designated a Preserve America neighborhood - one of the first seven in the nation.

The Preserve America Communities program recognizes communities (including neighborhoods in large cities) which protect and celebrate their heritage, uses their historic assets for economic development and community revitalization, and encourages people to experience and appreciate local historic resources through education and heritage tourism programs.
