HENRY GILBERT HOUSE

Henry Gilbert built this Italianate style house in 1867 on what had been the garden of Dr. Robert Peter’s house across Mechanic Street.  Typical of this style are the long arched windows and oval attic windows.  At the end of the 19th century the house was modernized and the side wing was added.
