Fourth Of July

Each year the Lexington Philharmonic and the Lexington Singers perform a patriotic concert on the lawn in front of Old Morrison on the Transylvania campus.

Hundreds of people gather on that evening in Gratz Park to listen to and sing along with the performance.

Lexington’s Fourth of July events begin each year with the running of the Bluegrass 10,000, a 6.2 mile foot race. Thousands of men, women, and children participate in this annual event, making their way through the downtown, including Gratz Park.

Mayfest

Mother’s Day Weekend is the date each year for Mayfest, a craft fair sponsored by the Downtown Lexington Corporation, that is held in Gratz Park and along Mill and Market Streets.

People often pick Gratz Park for gatherings such as weddings, family picnics, reunions, and school trips.
