This Queen Anne/Victorian shingled house was built in the early 1890s for Laura Shropshire. Henry Howard Gratz, editor of The Kentucky Gazette and son of Benjamin Gratz, lived in the house for a period of time.  Typical of the Queen Anne/Victorian style, this home has contrasting materials of brick on the first floor and wooden shingles on the second.
